A door can be built out of nearly any species of wood. The door frame can be made out of that same species of wood or the standard hardwood stain grade or softwood paint grade. Some woods have better adhesion than others when it comes to priming. Stain on the other hand can be applied to just about anything.
The weather stripping we use is a Q-lon product that is available in three colors, white, bronze or beige. This weather stripping is the seal between the door and the door frame. It is a sideways V shaped seal that is made of vinyl wrapped soft foam. When the door makes contact as it closes the seal compresses enough to form the airtight seal that is needed for any exterior application. We use this same product to build in-swing and out-swing casement windows.
Thresholds are fairly basic, extruded aluminum with an adjustable light oak stained sill. These are available in mill, bronze and brass finish. (The bronze color is closer to a dull black.) We can use any type of hinge that you can imagine. We have restoration hardware suppliers that can fill just about any style and finish. All exterior doors come standard with ball bearing hinges.
